Having played a lot of golf with all kinds of golfers, I’ve noticed trends in the thinking patterns of average golfers. One of the biggest issues I’ve noticed is that golfers tend to not think and pull out their driver on any hole that isn’t a par 3! There could be trouble everywhere and still they do not think about course management. By thinking twice about it, the average golfer could save many shots in a round of golf. Just watching players fight their way through the tough layout of Augusta National, I have realised that these elite golfers know exactly where they want to place the ball before they even play the hole. Course management is absolutely essential on tough layouts and slippery greens.
