According to www.shaftfit.com, you should consider the following when choosing the right shaft for yourself…

1.   Play the lightest shaft you can control.

* Playing a shaft that is too heavy will inhibit swing speed
* A shaft that’s too light will adversely affect acuracy and control

2.   Optimize trajectory for increased distance

* A shaft with a firm tip produces a lower ball flight
