3 Keys to Drive the Golf Ball Long
Most golfers over-estimate how far they can hit the golf ball.
I hear golfers say all the time, I hit it 280 metres (over 308 yards) and then I see their swing, and I swear they should have said 208 yards! By the way, no consistency either!
I don’t know what it is with golfers wanting to let others know how far they can crush the ball.
Anyhow that isn’t important…
Here are 3 simply things you can do to hit the ball further…
First of all, you need better balance. You can’t swing the club fast without very good balance. It’s such an overlooked part of your golf swing! It’s ridiculous! Balance should be the most important aspect!
So stick your bottom out is the easiest way to improve your balance and posture. This effectively moves your center of gravity closer to your true center and allow you to hit the ball harder.
Second of all, you need to return the club back to a vertical position at impact. This is so important to hit the ball straight!
Most golfers hit the ball with a slice because at impact the hands are WAYYYYY in front of the club head and therefore the club face is forced to be open.
So that’s very important in a consistent golf swing.
The last thing is you gotta have a strong dominant side. So right handers have to have a strong right hand. It’s like throwing a ball! You need that power in your right hand to release fully to give the club head as much speed as possible!
Anyhow, hope you enjoyed the video above. Here are some stats.
Club Head speed – 115 to 120 MPH usually
Driver: Titleist 905S, 85 gram shaft at 44 inches.
